Anglo American hosted their second annual Global Safety Day in November, and employees in every part of the organisation took two hours out of their normal day to take part. The theme was planning and we designed a film, leaders’ guide and other collateral in line with this theme.

The film follows an analogous approach, featuring characters from a 5-a side football team at work, at home and at play. The film is narrated by the main character and the voice over was recorded in six different languages so it was suitable for the global Anglo American audience.

An employee survey conducted after GSD found that 92% of staff found the film helpful or very helpful, and 97% of staff thought the planning message relevant and understandable.

We filmed in Rustenburg, South Africa, working with local cast and crew. Locations included several football pitches, a house and a Platinum mine, where the team had to go 1.5km underground for the filming.
