The Food Standards Agency needed a film to support their food safety week campaign to stop people washing chicken and spreading Campylobacter which causes severe illness.
We pitched an idea to bring the kitchen to life, with a cast of Fridge, Oven, Sink, Chopping Board and the very annoying Grater. We shot a series of plates and moves in a London kitchen, before animating them in After Effects and recording the voices to bring the message home.
The film had over 10,000 hits on youtube on its first day – with no paid media – and over 100,000 hits during its campaign. Independent research from TNS found that people were more likely to change their behaviour having watched the film than if they’d just read a leaflet about not washing chicken.
